Avalanche is supposed to be the fastest , more secured , low cost as well eco-friendly among the flagship cryptos like Bitcoin and ethereum.
But how ?
Lets talk about being fastest first. It is all about how fast you can determine the validity of a transaction.The Avalanche consensus model works by taking a subsample of large group of people who volunteer to participate in the network and get randomly asked to check whether a transaction should be accepted or rejected after it is initially thought to be valid .Consensus will be reached within a certain desired time.This model allows for up to 4,500 transactions per second and has a finality clock of less than 3 seconds where as Bitcoin with seven transactions as an hour-long finality.
How it is more secured compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum. Due to some technicalities this consensus model is actually much more difficult to attack unlike Bitcoin where you would need 51% of all the computers to attack the network where in etherium 2.0 where you would need 51% of all the states tokens to it. been at work with Avalanche you would need to control up to 80% of the network to perform an attack .
How it is low cost and ecofriendly. It is because of their concensus model again . It is called the snowman protocol which is a linearlized model that can help people run Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) . Because of the linear nature , it can provide high throughput and hence less cost per machine. For the same reason is ecofriendly too as there is less usage of energy in the machine
